NICE MAP !
very nice custom textures
but since nobody is taking about the bad sides...
I C alot of Z-fighting and beelding :s atleast on my computer
and sometimes I felt a bit lost and tiny which can be good if thats the way u wanted it to be

still some great piece of art !
keep up the good work and i'd give it a 8.5/100
-0.5 for the z-fighting n bleeding
and -1 just to keep u going

Byrd lost his intrest in modding for some time, but there's a little bit of his work in Opera House. So by now I'm one person team (schizophrenia).
Ok great, so like I want to say, dont leave moh mate stick it out. Its a great lil community. I beleive mappers and modders everywhere are going to spread themselves too thin by jumping ship with every new game. And with the gaming dollar growing every day new games are poping up everywhere, and I believe that hurts people like us. We have just gotten to a point where there is some really good stuff comeing out of the community and guys are going when they should be useing they new skills to make awesome maps and mods.
Thanks for your time.
If you need motivation do a level with me or one of those geniuses at .map;)

As far as I know Seeming Z -fighting is a matter of turning on 32-bit color
(seeming, because usually it is not true Z-fighting = exact brush overlap).

Z-fighting is Z-fighting. It just bad brushwork everytime. I remember maybe one spot that I saw this in this map. The only negative was the sheer size of some objects like doors. Felt like the knob was at my throat level. Some other objects like tables looked to be chest high as well. Not sure what others felt. Maybe a bit more ambient light...just tweak it up about 2 points. Overall I really like it. Haven't played it on-line yet, but I think it would do well.
The dynamic additions are a nice touch, glad to see others doing it to with a TDM map! The time to produce a quality map is unmatched. I wish more folks would do the same...the results speak for themselves.

afta downloading it and exploring it, the scale is just a little off. the doors are too big and many time i felt like i was crouching. also almost every door is locked, it would be cool if u opened them up. over all great job, it looks fun.

Thats because they were. Easy to make that type of mistake. I noticed when I looked at someone in some areas the Brushes were grossly disproportionate. But everyone has done that once.

I got the same question today:
Installing The Opera House:
1 - Download (*duh*)
2 - Extract to your desktop;
3 - Open the extracted folder;
4 - Copy
"Opra.pk3" and paste it in your (and the server's!) MoH "main" folder;
5 - 5 - Add/replace this to/in your servers cfg file:
Code: Select all
seta g_gametype "4"
seta sv_maplist "obj/opra"
map obj/opra
6 - Done, restart the server, connect & play !
Btw. it could be you only need to add this map to the maprotation in the "seta sv_maplist" line if there is one in place. Also you may need to adjust "timelimit" to enjoy this map at it's best...

Ok I did everything by the book and my server will not restart it hangs. I change the server.cfg back to omaha and it starts just fine. I need to really talk to someone that has had this running on a server already for the right config file settings for a windows based server.
Thank You

I like this map a lot but it crashes on me and so many other people that I can't take playin it online. The last server I was on with this the admin said it kept booting on him every 10 mins. And it did but it was a fun 10 mins.
