Notepad simply doesn't have formatting, so no need to turn it off just for coding
anyway you should all get Linux and the Kate editor, Syntax highliting (not formatting no, it saves as plain text), if you click on opening braket it wil highlight closing one, neat thing like taht

hmmm yes i think textpad is good, personally im a linux guy, but i sometimes need to test code to see if it's windows compatable, and currently im scripting in windows, so yeh if u got that language pack pls e-mail it to me (

i cant believe ive never heard of it b4... MS should use it instead of notepad
