Axion, did you ever resolve this issue? Because my map just started doing the same thing. It very suddenly did this to all my grate/fence textures in my map, except for a select few fences for some reason. Basically my grates and grated catwalks all did this suddenly. I'm stumped too.

No, I never fixed the problem, so to speak. But I have noticed something odd-
When I load my map in Allied Assault, the grate textures remain invisible from beneath. But when I load the level in Breakthrough or Spearhead, everything looks normal. So, it's anyone's guess as to what the hell is going on.
