Well, it isnt weird that I despise that map... its so f'ing unrealistic, it should definatley NOT be named Stalingrad... its nothing like Stalingrad. I think it was disrespectful of them to make the maps like a deathmatch shoot'em up arena... WWII should not be portrayed that way. And its so lame... you dont feel like your accomplishing anything... your just running around some crappy apartments killing eachother... god damn I hate that map so much.... lol ... of all maps THAT one is the mostest worstest

And I mean this in the nicest way possible, but I think your right... I would hate your map... I doubt there were too many WWII battles inside a hotel. Its just cheesy. If your gonna make a deathmatch map at least make it at a reasonable location. Now if it were Counter-Strike or something... that map would be accepted with open arms... but this is WWII... it wasnt fought inside a tiny cardboard box. C'mon guys(anyone who makes maps like stalingrad), your working with a game engine that will let you do ALL KINDS of cool stuff, it can handle large numbers of GREAT looking trees, large open areas, lots of solid structures in one area, tons of special effects (explosions, waves in the water, usable tanks, etc.) and very complex abiance!!!!! .....now ?WHY?WHY?WHY? do you take this for grantid and build your levels inside a tiny little soup can??? :?:  Use this game engine how it should be used! Show your real skills and build a beautiful, outdoor, western european, battle-torn, objective map... that's how to show you have a talent!

I do not mean to flame. Im not dissing you or your creations... well I guess I kinda did dis your map... but im not trying to flame, im just a big fan of realism, and I hate to see something as great as the second world war be mocked like this. :?[/i]

sorry

Yeah im not creating the maps for the realism factor youre getting at. Im creating a hotel because  ....well thats what i wanted to do for this one. Im not about trying to recreate actual battles that happened in any war. Im creating my own war in my own scenerios. It seems strange to me that you would get all worked up about maps not looking like actual battles or something like that for a game that pretty much has no realistic value. This game is like a slower version of unreal tounament without all the jumping. If youre looking for REAL realism i think you should check out Operation flashpoint or other games like it. I know that one is pretty good because i have it. :D For someone who is acting out so passionately about keeping things "realistic" seems to me you are in the wrong game. :roll:But if you really feel this way about maps like these then you should bring all the things you suggested to the table in your map making instead of explaining that to me. :P I know theyre there, but i do what i do because i really like the things i do....thats why i do them.

Strange that I got all worked up? You were calling your maps "your babies"!

lol, j/k

Anyways, ya, your halfway right about the wrong game. They made it unrealistic, deathmatchy, and arcade-like... so naturally its gonna attract unrealistic, deathmatchy, and arcade-like gamers... so... ya. :?

Its just that this game could have easily been a good realism WWII game... but they would'nt let it. Ive heard sooo many people on the PlanetMOH forums agree with me about this too, and I know a lot of people would like to see MOH take a turn for realism. And IT SHOULD! My opinion still stands about how it was very disrespectful of EA to mock something so great such as the second world war... I mean, if it wasnt for all the soldiers that fought and died in WWII, they wouldnt be programing PC games right now.... they would be coding programs for the nazi's at gunpoint....

Here is the thread at PlanetMOH that I mentioned

Every game has its good points, but thats just it... its just a game. No matter how realistic or not. Its still again. When i go to EA's forums all i see is complaints. Why play it then :?: Theyre other games out there you should try like axis and allies that are capable of the realism youre asking for. Its just a game with a theme. At BSU we had a visitor talking about such games. He was disgusted with todays youth. So if it was a tribute to any war hero, chances are if they saw some heavy combat, its probably and unwanted tribute. As far as me calling my maps my babies im poking fun out how i get into making maps. You were getting angry. Thats why i pointed out. I just dont think its worth getting worked up about. There are plenty of others things to be angry with like "the homeland security" bill we just passed. I guess america wants to give up its freedoms. If i were you go read 1984. That book changed me.

no way.... get out! I had no idea that this was a game! lol, j/k. I am aware of that, but I think the game could be a lot funner, and more realistic, and the people you see "complaining" just have some hope that EA would listen to their customers and try to please them too... thats all.

The realism I am looking for is in a first person shooter. 2 PERFECT EXAMPLES that I wish MOH could be like: Day of Defeat(aka: DOD) mod for Half-life (without the crappy game engine) and America's Army with its realistic player movements, and obj maps, etc.... wow, if MOH could just be like that. DOD is WWII, and it has ALL the main infantry weapons... MG's, Other rifles, other SMGs, etc. And there is no "realism mods" its all global, its all realistic damage.

I was j/k about how you call your maps "babies" ... I wasnt angry. The only thing im angry about is that MOH could be so much better, and im angry at how they portray WWII. Its not like I was screaming & kicking, throwing things at the computer... lol

Oh well, its beyond us anyways, waste of time to be angry at that... i dunno :?

grrrr

ooooh i was going to leave this alone because you pick out everything i say and i dont want to turn this into a long thread but homeland security was very important and very bad thing to pass. Im dead serious you should look up info on it then look up pass programs that the US gov't has passed like operation "TIPS" DARE programs "terrorist act of 1996. Then go read 1984 by george orwells. Then go get a nice soft recliner and watch america for the next 20 years.

"If you throw a frog into a pot of boiling water, he will jump out. But if you place a frog in a pot and slowly turn up the heat one degree at a time, he will stay in the pot until he boils to death. This is the way of friendly fascism. And this is the way Americans will lose their remaining liberties."
