Not really sure, I think it is a dynamic kind of light. What would happen if you compiled it with the shader set at "surfacelight 0" and then changed it to "surfacelight 1000" after? Would it still emit light?

ok i follow your advise about light emitting surface
i asked you about a red or blue light emitting surface and you said if my texture is red or blue with the shader you wrote it will give them a light .........
"The color of the light will be a blending of the colors in the image. So if you make one that has a lot of blue, the light will be blue. "
tell me if i misundestood
so i tested with a purple texture i made with photoshop ...fulled of purple colour

i just changed the scripts/shader without compile again!!!!!

It does not look like the stargate in the movie or TV show. It might look better if the room is darker, and your color is brighter (more white).

this is not my map its just a test map that i ve setted to set the teleportation (with shifty work)
and thx for the light emiting surface trick this is very cool to know
and Btw i dont really want a stargate map i ll do a lib map(breakthrough) with some gate teleport on it........for fun..

and do you think if i set the "chevron" texture more brighter the light effect will be more intensive ? (in the pic is surfacelight 10000 and i want a better effect if its posssible sure ? )

Heres how mine currently looks, the chevrons do change when the gates activated overall it'll be completed soon lost a few days due to unscheduled drinking but hey its gotta be done lol

your chevron as setted as script object and you add some :show /hide line in your script isnt it to make the effect ?

Absolutely I made the 2 sets of chevrons the dull out of 1 grid unit and under it the lit chevron out of 3 and i made them the same script object as the puddle so they hide/show when it does

btw your gate is a beauty cylinder i never manage to do one like this
brush arbritary side (i tried 16 till 64 side)
can i ask you how you made your or if someone can tell how to do a beauty cylinder
