Your fan thread should work as is, but you could also move the two sound lines to the "start_sounds" thread. There they will get that one second delay before starting, which seems to help sounds load better.

These two numbers, "184 512" are the min and max for the woodcreak2 sound--found in the local.master line. I made them small so players would only hear it when they are under the blades. So, if players can't get that close, you'll want to make the two numbers larger.

The blades act as speakers, so you don't need to add more--unless you wish to make the sound come from the end of the blades and not the center of them. But, it will sound more real if the sources are rotating, so you should bind the new speakers to the blades, if you go that route.

In a real windmill you might hear the wood creak from the center ($fan), and a "whoosh" sound as each blade goes by. It is just a matter of how fancy you want to get.
