useable spotlights would be good for a night-time MP map, if you could have an MG42 at the same time, like the enemies in SP do. then you could see where you were aiming better with the spotlight, and where ever the light is, is where you would shoot. but most maps arent dark enough so that you cant see people.

you could do it if you could bind a spotlight to an mg42 or something

most of the things people are asking for arent that hard if you look at the scr files. extract the files from pak1.pk3 that come under global in the 'path' column. then open them with notepad, and most have a tutorial at the top explaining how to use them. most scripted things in games use a global scr. but they dont always explain it that well, so tutorials are better if you dont understand scripting that much

yer i wouldnt have the first clue bout scripting
plus my map i dont want it to b a respawn map so a mg42 a bad idea as pple would b killed instantly?
can u tone down damage by mg42s in map or server side?
cause we would b running the map on my clans server once done if good enough

Reducing the dmbulletdamage setting of the mg42 turret will make it less dangerous. You can do this by scripting (if you know the targetname of the turret) or by modifying the corresponding TIKI file, which will affect all turrets.

Hey guys :D

This is about the tank tut script. Like surgeon said in this thread the script in that tut need a lot of work. When I made that tutorial I created the script more to explain a bit of scripting and the small basics about using AI thanks. I didn't make it to be a global script that people can use with every tank situation that might exist. Anyway, I've been working on a global script for tanks for some times and the first version of that global script is on my page (in the script section) at:

A lot of stuff has been improve in that script (like the tank shooting AI) but it's still far from finish. I will put a new version of it in about 1 week with a lot more improvement. So jv_map if you want to make a better script for tanks you might want to check that script file. And if you would like to work with me on this I could use some help. Anyway, I'm sending the invitation but if you like better to work on your own script it's ok with me and you can use anything I've made.

By the way my next tutorial will be a general scripting tutorial. I don't know when it will be finish but be ready for a realy big tut. This might well be the biggest crash course in programming history but I think it will help a lot of people if they know more about the basic of scripts. Surgeon i'll send you a copy when the thing is ready. By the way you can take anything you want on my page and put it on your's, the stuff I write is for all the community...

Bombing tutorial.... with sounds.... can't get the sounds to work in tuts I've tried.

SCRIPTS. All kinds and situations.

TRIGGERS... OH MY GOD! *as only Homer J. Simpson can say it! :wink:
seriously though, I'm a nightmare with triggers.

General stuff: Don't just write the tutorial about the script alone. The best ones show graphics and most importantly HOW to set up the entities. That's where I think I go wrong. I can copy/paste and usually edit a script, but the da*n entities always get me.

SOUNDS: With triggered events, doors, etc. More of the same, but jeez.

MP TANKS and VEHICHLES: not sure there is much progress in this arena.

Maybe somebody offering to co-op on map designs as Scripters??? hint, hint!

how about a tut on scripting... not specific type of scrypting.. but just something to teach newbs to start a script from scratch.... because i certainly dont :(

something that will allow newbs to script their map without having to refer back to a tut they saw.... but maybe the one im requesting :o

maybe a stupid question: but how but a quick one on windows? and their breakability. . .

and i have no idea how to do particle fx like smoke outa chimneys, fire in the fire place. . .
