Well, i must say the mdk not being released yet gives me more time to work on a script editor for the MoH serie. If i'm lucky, i might have time to release a beta version when the mdk comes out.
Though it would be cool to already have it

I will say that all the mappers will be blown away by just how fast MoH:PA maps compile. We are talking seconds and minutes for a full map, rather than hours....

Now that's defiritely reason to rejoice!

thats weird, every map i made at the longest only took 2 minutes to compile.
then again it was mostly textures, like maybe 1 script.

Well, compiling only makes the .map file into a bsp file and generates some other necessary files, scripts files has nothing to do with it.

I think Surgeon is talking about just the bsp compile. I don't think the MDK bata has a LIGHT compiler yet. Although, there is something called "LightMapper.exe" that I have not looked at yet.

From what we saw and were told in LA, whilst the game has a tiny part of Q3 Engine Architecture in it, its a different engine from the first MOHAA. Lighting is done in a whole new way, and once i find the docs i will post them.

The beta does have light now. Light still takes seconds unless you soften shadows...then your in for some time (still not even a min though).
I can get everything to work except for models to cast shadows.
I have also got it to support brushes and HitP textures. Brush support is not gone.
Surg you wont find the docs on the new lighting method as they did not send that in the beta mdk...lol (Thanks TKO

).

Sounding good, nice to know brushes can be imported as prefabs.

No date as we are still debugging. We just got Beta #2 and its looking much better now that they are taking our feedback and putting it into the tools.

Can you give me a guess?

I could but it would be wrong. I felt like we had the beta mdk and then we would go final which would have been bad due to the number of bugs the MOHTeam found.
Now we are at beta2 and there are still bugs but it looks like progress for the first time.
Would be nice to see the bugs fixed in a beta3 and then go final for the public.
Since I am just debugging its hard to give a date or rough timeframe. I would and have guessed that we would be at final by now but that was simply based off of the timeframe Matt Powers had in mind months ago.
