Here is a great shot my Nephew sent yesterday. It shows the 82nd Airborn being ferried across the river at dusk. You can also see my Nephew's ship, and another Coast Guard cutter, docked a stones throw from Bourbon street.



His ship is next to a park here: ( "Harriet Lane" lat=29.9525045317, lon=-90.06262098 ). So far all he has done is clean up that park as a landing zone for choppers, and help to get the New Orleans CG stations back up and running.

He said some of the stations were looted! It is hard for me to believe that people would steal equipment from the US Coast Guard, while they are flying overhead to rescue them! And, it is a federal crime, so the FBI will be after their ass.
