Cmon P, you know as well as I do, until recently the french language at least was adored as the embodyment of err 'romantic' Most other countries havent had 'freedom toast' and similar phenomenons, so french is still considered 'ze language of love' in many palces, barring US and alot of Canada. When I grew up, this backlash had not formed, and I clearly remember how alot of America felt THEN about the french language and accent, as compared to how they feel NOW.

But thats neither here nor there. I said she was hot because of her voice(obviously) no clue what she looks like or if she is a 'hottie' (arent those hot dogs anyhow?) Just saying her voice is incredibly sexy, and that alone should make them pretty successful. Played a coupel of the songs for a friend and his first question was, 'Is she married?' The evanescence comparison is good because she has that same entrancing quality, and it is rare for a female singer to appeal to men in that way.

To me its kinda like Bjork... and if you dont think Bjork's voice is sexy(its a little different these days) you have never heard the SugarCubes, or probably alot of her earlier stuff. Very Primal, and that more then anything is what (hetero =p) guys respond to in a female singer, well that and sex appeal, but thats another matter, and not really what her singing is about.

Anyway, She's good, the band sounds like they have decent influences and are heading a good direction, but im not willing to call them great or anything yet.

Heh, no offence, man, but saying they're awesome doesn't provide much info for them. ;)

I think alot of women who sing something other then 'Pop' which is what 99% of them end up singing owe a big debt to people like Janis Joplin, and 'some' of the early female soul singers. Soul is a completely different thing, so its hard to compare, but Janis was powerful, and primal, in a way that women just werent supposed to be in the music industry. Hell she was more intense then most of the male singers in her era.

'Me and Bobby McGee' is one of my favorite songs ever. Between her and Jimmy both dieing so young... just think what might have been otherwise.

ahhh another Texas girl, she has some really great stuff. Not to many singers have a hit song with no instriments just her singing.....lets see its the song that goes " Oh lord, wont you buy me a mercades benz my friends all drive Porche's......
