problem with a clip brush is it keeps shots from making the glass decal too, which i think (personally) he would want.

Ok, i was woundering, if he copyed the glass texture he was using only he re-names it, and then writes out the same shader for it with the new name, and gives it no surface parm, this would not be shoot-thru-able would it? because it would behave like stone or what evers default right? Then he could simply add a glass clip infront to make the glas sounds when shot at.

Wouldn't that work?!

ALSO, is it possable to make an area of a map FORCE players to holster weapons untill they leave the area? If so, why not apply this to the area where you want your spectators to be, therefore they cannot interfere with the "dual". However i fear that they could still be shot at via the window.

I was actually going to ask about that in a few days...

but as I mentioned earlier... blackglass can shoot through wood/stone...

blackglas is a "worldspawn" glass texture... and if you shoot directly through that it will just pass through the stone.

Ok basically what I did was put the glass in the middle, and on each side put a 1 pix thick and caulked the whole thing so you couldn't walk through it.

Works perfectly except that if they shoot it doesn't sound like glass, so what I am going to do is toss in a "glass" texture, which should make it sound like glass. brb I'm going to attempt this and I'll reply with how it went.

The glass made it able to shoot through so that doesn't work.

It did make the glass sound, however it then allowed the glass to be shot through.

So I can live with that! :P

Player clip

Post by tltrude »

There is also a clip texture named "player clip". And, there is one named "clip all".
