one last thing i'm hoping you can help me on is fog, i hear it requires a bit of scripting?

Fog doesn't need scripting, you can do it by using
1)worldspawn
or
2)scripting
But scripting won't be so hard. Check out the worldspawn reference guide.

How about a tut on :
AI Parameters
Surface Properties
Entity window
Some things in these are self explanatory, but there are things that a lot of mappers probably don't know.

Well I would have liked to see a tutorial on Modeling. But since no one has any tuts on this I decided to take it up myself. My next tutorial for Begining Modeling will be out as soon as I dont have so much work from school.

hey mohaa_rox, what was that you said about the worldspawn reference guide? I've been looking for a tutorial on fog myself and can't find anything within the reference saying how. I'd like to do it within worldspawn, but don't know the command.

OK, go to the tutorials page, and under the "references", where there's mapping tips etc, you can see the "Worldspawn Reference Guide". Very useful, by Innkeeper.

All it does is list various settings from different levels. Where is the fog setting row in that table?

All stuff beginning with "farplane".

Ok, so if in worldspawn i put:
farplane 3000
I get fog? Is high number more fog, or less? (I'm guessing less) Is there a way to change the colour of the fog, or otherwise change it's properties?

could you update one of the tutorials ... its the beam lights one ... perhaps add at the end that you should turn the beam brush (cone-shaped like) to a script_object and select the not_solid option in its entity window ...
cause i certainly forgot of doing that so when i went inside to test it, it was solid although the effect worked ... oops
so for starters like me that will avoid you a post here

How about a tut on making a train go by?! Would that be cool or what?! I'm doing a MP map (I know ROX, you do SP, but....) that has a train track in it with North and South bound tracks. I know I saw a train in MOHAA and also in Spearhead so it should be possible. Your thoughts ROX?!?!?!
