Oh, missed the last page of posts,
Its solved.
You have too many structural brushes, make the planks ( and all other stuff that does not completely block vis into detail brushes )

I just use Single Player and copy the file to /dm manually, or make my own .bat file if i know i will run it many times.
This option is only for the final copying of the BSP to the correct folder, it has NO impact on the compile result!

Your first error "LEAKED" is because the entities can be reached from outside! you have a hole in you skybox or some stuff is missplaced outside it.
As you mentioned, make a custom texture that would look like several planks or else you will have to "chop" up the brigde brush that the planks are lying on, divide it into 2,3 or the number that are needed to get rid of the error. You can only have a certain amount of brushes touch an other brush. If you plan on keeping all those brushes make sure you make them detail or you VIS will boost (and it will just be a waste).

Use the program "Windows Explorer" and copy the file to the location where you want it.

Shifty! U gezer U! The broblem is:
Q3map.exe wrote:error:
MAX_SURFACE_VERTS
This says that U hit the roof of the number of structural faces in the map ( above 20.000 ?), and the solution is to make brushes that dont block visibility much ( or at all ) into detalied brushes ( with the brushes selected, right click on the map grid and select "Make detail" ).
If this error is present: No .bsp file will be generated.
Basically, all things except walls and very large solid objeccts should be made detail.

But...
This happens on every map i compile which dont throw up the max surface vents error.

Is there any major differnces between your batch file and mine?
Copy it in here! ( the text in the Batch file box in MBuilder ).
Wow Mines different
Code: Select all
"C:\PROGRA~1\MOHAAT~1\Q3map.exe" -gamedir C:\PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA
pause
"C:\PROGRA~1\MOHAAT~1\Q3map.exe" -vis -gamedir C:\PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA

Copy "C:\PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA\MAIN\MAPS\.bsp" C:\PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA\main\maps
Progress.......... But not Much

Well I removed all those planks and used a custom texture (which looks more like it actually did on the real bridge) and the MAX SURFACE ERROR is gone Hurrah!!!
Everything then compiles as it should with no errors.....
until the very end, when this appears
Code: Select all
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\main\maps>Copy C:PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA\MAIN\MAPS\ludenorff.bsp" C:PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA\main\maps
File Cannot be Copied onto itself
0 files(s) copied
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\main\maps
hmmm wat the hell is going on now???

The compile makes a bsp file in the dir where U want it to start with, uncheck the "Copy BSP to map directory" check box... ( under "other options" ).

Yup just spotted that myself removed it and finaly i can walk on my bridge
WAHEY!!!
Now I can finish building it - Heres a 1st Screenshot just to prove to myself it works
And Heres a Pic of the Bridge
As you Can see lots more to do, but now at least I can get on with mapping without the compile worrys.
So thanks to everyone who replied to this Topic i'm massivly in Debt CHEERS!!

I would not be happy if I needed to run over that bridge under sniper fire
Looking good!
