would these very secret things be 'Elgbot Serverside'?
Also i think the way he did is is when the game launches he stalls or interupts the console so it doesnt read the pk3's yet.

nah i dont reacon, U wud only have to call fs restart . q3's file system wud then reboot the pk3's

well When i was talking he said he interupts it. He also said he found someway in the game its self

you got credibility I think he'll tell you.
I wanted to kinda make a fun little thing on my server that when you killed some1 you'd give a little shout or play a sound (most are the "impressed" ones)
i am using a player sized trigger 128 and constantly checking the guys health seeing if it drops
if it drops it checks if the trigger was set off uf it was it prints on the shooter's screen the dmg they did (by sub. old health from current health)
if the poor bastard is dead then the last person to set off the trigger is the killer. and he plays a random sound.
But i never tried it to see if it works :S
and it should be very in accurate.
got the idea from CoD, ever so many kills the crazy russian gos "HUGAA!!"
but i suppose you can get where the player is killed via states.

ty for the contact info, u cud edit the post now to hide it if need be.
Im guessing he calls the file system.
Your trigger way has been done. not accurate and the triggers stop shooting in some way or something.
