there used to be an "ubersoundfix" out there. Perhaps that would help.

that's happened to me a few times. Don't remember what caused it ..... cloning brush work or whatever..... but I just deleted some of the brush work and started over. Took care of the problem for me ...... so I remember it did anyways. Are you using caulk and then adding texture ? I also pull all custom pk3 files ( main and mainta ) while mapping. they cause conflicts.

yeah ive taken out custom pk3's. i generally caulk when i do it but its old brushes thats screwing up too. (as you can see im editing stalli). ive tried recreating the brushes in question by clicking and craging in 2d view to no avail. i also remake the brush and it affects another brush.

Snapped on Grid?

Perhaps your brushes are not set on the grid properly. Cloning and rotating the brushes will cause this problem. Try selecting the brushes and pressing CTRL + G to snap them back on grid.

Ok, it sort of worked on some brushes, theres one that it hasnt had any effect on though, the brush is a right angle triangle.

Ive just compiled the map again. before this the textures inside north top were ok. ive not done anything to them but now they have dissapeared with that roof. i dont get whats causing them to vanish when im not doing anything to them :s.

I also recompiled it and they are still there in the exact same spot.

another thing, it looks like the 'snap to grid' function doesnt even work properly, because when im making a roof corner, after pressing ctrl & g the corners are still out of place.

Hm...

Did you ever use the CSG Subtract tool? This often creates corrupted brushes. Try rebuilding the brushes without the use of this tool.

how can i rebuild and shape brushes without using that?

You can shape and manipulate any brush by the use of edge editing, vertex editing, and the clipper tool.

Here's a nice tutorial to get you started:

/t.php?id=21

I think you will find it very helpful! :D

anything you made with CSG.... remove. all that does is create problems.

glad to help :D

i'll mention just in case that to select one side of a brush you can use ctrl+shift+click, but you probably figured that out by now :P

you don't apply caulk you use caulk. textures/common/caulk......... to make all your brush work..... other than something that you would normally use nodraw for.

to make it simple.... re-caulking that is.... make a brush entirely surrounding your map and hit the hollow key. deselect. go to "selection" then "select inside"..... that will highlight all of your work. then you can hit the caulk/deselect/save as.

thanks. ive been trying to get used to these and not going the lazy way about cutting brushes, it can be a bit difficult with sloping roofs though because they arent exactly dead on grid.
