i was going to submit a ton of side by side SSs of maps that were in the preview by axis (READ le aryan) but i downloaded the patch and it's skins and weapons only so i'm not sure if the maps in the vid are just custom maps they had running or maps they claim are there's (cypher's The Alley, Mw miami heat & miami heat night are in the vid)

i cant imagine a less informed community, plagerism is a crime in any shape method way or form, digital or no. by downloading with authors consent and redistributing under their own name... sigh.

"dont release mods in public" give me a break, thats what the modding community IS FOR, to sahre your creations to everyone else, get tips on how it's done, and improve your own skills. if you've got a golden mod that people want then YOU should be given credit for it, not some noob who knows how to open Notepad and use find and replace.

they seem somewhat rational in hte fact that they aren't saying "stfu f#g ur gay" yet but... what they're saying has no reason to it.

l_kid you should have seen the replies rook and i got for busting the axis assault mod for the xerox it is. i don't know if any of you are old enough to remember when george brett got busted for using a tampered bat....he came charging out of the dugout like he was going to mow someone down after the ump called him out . that's what these kids are like.

Who cares abotu EA's eula? Everyone knows they are modding for a privately owned game, and its has zero bearing on the discussion... is it me or did this guy try and find like 3 different ways to shift the subject from personal responsibility for someoens actions when they rip someone else off? He's either jsut clinging on for arguements sake, out of a personal vendetta, or cause he actually thinks people should steal whatever they want?

I can only assume most of you dont care about legal rights to most of your 'mods' at least thats not what THIS is about. This is about people who steal. We dont like them, we dont need them, and frankly we'd prefer to see them not 'benefit' from false claims.... unless im way off. To me its like cheaters. The 'ignore them, they arent really imopacting you' approach is such sheer bullshit to me... They are entering into competition in a dishonest manner. That itself is an affront. Even worse are those who steal intellectual properties knowingly. They are mocking creativity and trampling all over someone else's sweat and hard work, for such casually minimal gains. Its like such flagrant and excessive dishonesty, in such a completely hideous place. How can you take someone else's creative process and claim it as your own? what kind of inhuman monster can do that? Easy answer is someone who has NO creative process of thier own. Someone who will never know what it is like to make something. Someone who must steal, because thier efforts(whatever few there were) to create soemthing yielded only failure or consternation. I honestly fidn these people dispicable. Its the casual easy choices that perhaps defien you best.

Yea its compeltely easy to just slap your name on someone else's 'unprotected' work and grab all the kudos you can. Now, im not a religious man to say the least, but its fair to say, if there is indeed a highway to hell, it is paved in large measure by such easy choices as that.

well i'll never get ripped anyway, but it annoys me that ppl do it (i'd really like to kick ze french aryan asses (but on the other hand, would i really wanna waste my time with those jerks?)). the discussion on TMT about the mods being EA's property is just bs. even if they were, it doesn't mean that you can just steal other ppl's stuff and claim it your own. black list is okay for me, they shud be known as cheats.

i believe the EULA doesnt state privately funded/created/owned mods are property of EA anyway, EA owns sole rights to redistribute them. whcih makes sense.

it doesnt lizzie Mclizardson... its just pointless side-tracking 'why do you care you dont own it anyway' - trying to cast negative aspects on people who would dare get annoyed that somoene ripped them. And just so, this is why as you say, it is extremely rare for internet forum arguements (other arguements can indeed be persuasive) to ever convince anyone to change thier stance. When it comes to flames and argueing, forums exist as an open, nearly anonymous vent. You dont have to listen to a single response if you dont want to, you dont have to read them at all, you can change directions 50 times a minute (<- guilty meself often) cause its a stream of thought to a somewhat neutral audience. It is a compeltely different and new form of communication, although people freaking argue that point with me on forums constantly =p
