Telling an AI to take cover/break cover?

Post by lizardkid »

is there a way to tell an AI simply to find the nearest cover and get to it? like $AI takeCover?

Yer, just change his thinkstate to "cover" or "run around madly waving arms in the air" :) (jocking on the last one. )

thinkstate is read-only. Sadly there isn't a simple takecover command :(, no clue why this hasn't been implemented :? ... something you could try is place a script_origin somewhere in the map and do

$myscriptorigin ai_event grenade 512

I think this will put em in nade panic mode and might do what you want... it might also look stupid in which case you'll have to script the run-to-cover yourself (use runto and possibly exec anim/cower.scr - not the intended usage I think but it works :)).
