What do you need this for? If EA ever releases the source it's going to be MSVC6 compatible anyway as Q3 was built in it.

Maybe you can look into the beta2 of vs2005 now available
http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/vs2005/

vs2003 is good too but i'd look at the 2005 if i were you. Visit msdn regularly, they have free offers sometimes, that costs nothing to participate. To get it at an even lower price, well, you're on your own on this one. Anyway, all that's important to have is the good .NET sdk, so when the final release is done, get it and, the IDE can stay beta it doesn't really matters, unless they disable/add/remove features and you absolutely need support to specific vs project files.

And about sources, DirectX9 was not out when mohaa was released, it uses OpenGL/directX8 so, it will probably be vc++6 sources, if they ever come out. Having DirectX9 installed doesn't mean the game uses it's complete capabilities, it can use dx8 functions present in dx9.

cheers. i will look now. I donwload the beta last year in 2k4. They said it was only valid for 1 year until 2k5. Didnt think it wud still be arround for download.

im sure i put this in offtopic.:S

FPRGET ABOUT MOHAA!

i know mohaa doesnt use DX9. I know it wud prob work in vc 6. i know the code wont get released anyway.

i do try to do other things as well as play mohaa u know. DX, opengl. making stupid trianlges that glow is one of them! and its useless to make stupid triangles in vc6 now.

ok checking link ta!:D

I'd drop M$ crap then, if I were you. ;) Get yourself Dev-C++ and write some stuff in OpenGL.

for someoen who dont know c++ ( ME) dev C++ would be hurdling instead of just sprinting.

also i have more intesest in windows programming.

opengl is nice, i wanna lok into that also.

Wouldn't really say that. All I can think of that's easier is the MFC, which sucks anyway. ;) I'm using Dev-C++ myself and I'm not a coding guru.

VC++ 6.0 is the best. hands down, best enviroment, best flexibility, best features. you cannot go wrong with a VC++ 6.0 copy.
I'd drop M$ crap then, if I were you.
And rookie, just 'caus you don't like Windows *gives a sad little shake of the head at Rookie* doesn't mean you should automatically not like anything MS ;) MS has much of the best products ;) (Excel, VS, Powerpoint, etc)

exactly. plus they have seriously advanced controls as well, to an advanced user, it's like putting thoughts in binary.
