Crouching soldier/laying down soldier

Post by LtNeil »

Im making a single player game and was wondering is there anyway to get your enemy soldiers to start of crounching or laying down?
My candle burns at both ends it will not last the night but oh my foes and oh my friends it gives a lovely light.

Try this in the entity box:

key / value:
position / crouch (or prone)

actually... yes..

you'd need to make a new state and assign something to a key to be able to crouch and do that, but yeah... it'd be possible.

not without some serious work though.

Not without adding a prone animation to player animation includes. And adding new animations f**ks up the existing. Tried it already.

that would have been so cool too...

did you try making a different animation include with just the prone-based animations?

It's possible but not server-side... preventing players to move when prone is tough too.

I've made this working - when you double-tapped crouch, you'd go prone, but the view height was still at crouch level. And of course the animations were screwed up (it looked as if you were sharking).

@Lizard - tried every way I could think of, no luck.

I once gave it a try too (long ago)... anims etc were all good but the move speed was insane and so was turning... I couldn't get the view right either. :(
