I'd like to try some custom obj maps, but when I load 'em, the console says that it can't load Obj maps...

Ehrr.... strange... how do you load them? Via the standard map starting interface? And where are the pk3:s located ?

I put them in the main folder... - Uh-oh, should I place them in the obj folder?
I just start like when playing a normal game and then open the console => maplist and select the map...

Yes, Put it in the OBJ folder
And the g_gametype 4 is a console command, Pull down console and type that in, Then the restart command.
Then when it loads itll be OBJ gametype.
But for what your tryin to do , Just put it in the OBJ folder.

Thanks!
Bah, nope, it still doesn't work...
I get the same message in my console (and the g_gamestart 4 thing doesn't really work either...
Where exactly should I put the maps? (When I open the console and type in maplist, I find the custom maps in the Obj folder, btw.)

You can't load objective maps from the maplist, only singleplayer and dm-maps. The pk3 should go in main, but to load an objective map you have to start a multiplayer game, choose 'Objective match' and select the custom map in the rotation list.
Or just start it using the console, type:
g_gametype 4 (no need to restart since it will restart upon loading the map)
map obj/mapsbspname
Objective

You can't blow up the objectives playing alone, unless you modifiy the script. To play it alone, you have to remove, or comment out (//), the following line in the script.
level waittill roundstart
change it to:
//level waittill roundstart
Place the modified script in maps/obj and it will override the one in the pk3.

I think also your map name should have obj_ in front of the name as part of the name or it won't show up when you start a server.
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\main\maps\obj\obj_mymap.bsp

Yeah, I know, I just wanted to test, I think it was the opera map - not play, just have some lookie-lookie in this beautiful map and maybe get some ideas for mine (which is SP, tho)

This happens in SH & BT only. AA decides which maps are for which gametype by the directory they're in, whereas the expansion pack do it by its name (mp_mapname_dm, obj_whatever, mp_mapname_tow etc.).

It did work fine with the Opera map (that's a real great map, I like it! Beautifully textured and good lighting). But it doesn't work with the stf3 map - I see the custom load screen for about half a second and then it disappears and nothing happens...

Great
But, I do have SH installed right now, I think... So it would work, right?
