Restart to get sound-tiki files working

N00b question:

Why do I have restart my map to get the sound files to work?

I have a script_model with a fx/dummy.tik files but I never hear the sounds upon initial loadup. I get a bunch of precache errors in the console, even though I already have a _precache file.

This isn't just localized to my maps either... I've downloaded a few tut maps and run into the same problem with them.

As soon as I hit restart from console everything fires off great.

This has been driving me crazy all day.

main:

level.script = maps/dm/mp_pegasus_dm.scr
local.master = spawn ScriptMaster
local.master aliascache crossing_bell sound/bridge/xing3.wav soundparms 3.0 0.0 1.0 0.0 1024 6000 auto loaded maps "m dm moh obj "

///////////////////////
level waitTill prespawn
///////////////////////

// *** Precache DM stuff

exec global/DMprecache.scr
exec global/ambient.scr

end

triggerbell:

$bell playsound crossing_bell

end

sound

Sometimes the sound thread needs a short wait, so that the wav file has time to load.

triggerbell:

wait .5
$bell playsound crossing_bell

end

You need to create a custom ubersound.scr for your map and cache the sounds in there.
