Hey, am new to this place but just wondering where you guys play the MOH:AA multiplayer games as it seems all games use the normal maps, also where do i find all the most popular maps. Is it just the 'review area on the site? Thanks for any help. Walkaways

The MOH community is very weird. They really like to see good mods but hardly play them.

Not many servers have good connections, reputation, and maps. I play namely at the Violentricity server, which is pure stock Obj.

ASE is picking up 75 moh servers with players on them(north America <200 ping) and 2 of them are running red(non-stock) maps.

Course alot of these servers ARE modded, with stupid bits of fire here and there, and of course the 'custom' realism which is pretty much identical to every other 'custom' realism.

If things havent changed drasticaly in the last 6 months you can prolly find renan and stlo being played on european servers, maybe a few others... but due to the fact people have to go to a site and download maps, most custom maps only get played on clan servers once in a while. There has to be about a 100 good maps out there for moh:aa that have never been decently bloodied up... tis a shame.

The reason you dont see many servers running custom maps or other types of downloads is because most people in general are not interested enough to go download them. Also, of the few hosts that do give it a shot with running custom maps the servers are either empty or have a few dedicated peeps at prime times. Why is this?

It's a big hastle having to dl and it's all that hastle for one server usually!! Too many servers doing there own thing. That's why serverside mods are so popular!

I put my map project on hold and am working on single player conversions. I can fill my server with people playing those damn conversions (that at best are second rate) and I can only get a handfull (my own clan members) to download my map paks.

it's a shame, for one - that the general opinion seems to be that the stock mp maps are gospel! At this point in the game I think all the very best maps to be found for this game are custom maps!

two - interest in the game is begining to decline, we are loosing peeps to other games, sure they come back somtimes but that won't continue forever.

We need to do something to make it easier for the general public to participate in the custom maps in order to spark new interest in the game.

I propose a map pak service to be hosted!! Sort of a map pak of the month club.

Many servers running the same map pak every month would make it easier for the general public and add increased insentive to go get those maps!!

Those SP maps in MP are absolute crap.

Ive no clue what you do to convert them, but its not ~your~ map so hopefully you wont take offense =p

Some of the BT maps in AA are awesome though... TSF runs those SH/BT maps(I hate ALL SH maps) and even those which are packed up together in oen easy download and are on a couple servers, no one will download. As a result whenever thier rotation hits one of those, the population hits a tailspin. Youll see the same people on alot on stock maps, but they cant be bothered to avoid getting kicked for not having the custom ones.

There are two reasons I joined the Clan I am in a few years back...

A) theme nights feauturing custom maps on the weekends...
B) Stock Rifles only on Omaha the rest of the time. (the out and out sickest competition you will ever see in MOH~~~)

Our servers pretty dead of late though, cause it takes like 4 clan guys on to keep others coming. (alot of people quit cause they think anyone who killed them with a mauser is cheating lol - others quit cause they have realism on the brain and insist the M1 has been depowered even when I insist that ~I~ did the mod and the only changes are more ammo and a nodrop line) So without constant people its pretty impossible to get anyone not in the clan to get custom maps even for a weekend thing.

Kinda odd too, MOHAA has of course plummetted in the past months population wise, but especialy Omaha servers have... Maybe cause there is so much realism and Omaha is pretty insane for allies on a realism server. I once used an mg on a realism omaha server *shudder* cleared like 20 allies who were trying to get up in a couple minutes.

ok im rambling now.

actually some of those sp maps are ok.... and there an empty slate for modding. The thing is people flock in when i put them on. For two reasons..

1. they are stock (easy.. no dl) and

2. they are something new and different for most, seems to be what people are looking for.

my point is - custom maps that offer the very best presentation of MOH,
are just to hard for the general public to access. I get this alot on my server -

"what's a pk.3 and what's a main folder ?"

Very sad, you guys are shouting into the wind! Metal of Honor has passed its prime.

I went out and bought "SplinterCell: Chaos Theroy" and it is exellent. The editor came with it and is about 10 times better than the one for Mohpa. The game uses the unreal engine and comes with four coop-only missions (two more in the works). Coop Video!

there will allways be new and better games. but there is something about MOH that keeps many of us, and brings back many who left.

It is with us in our hearts.

It is our home.

There are no pings on a forum....

on a server however, youd see how far across the globe .map extends.

MoH is dying from an MP standpoint, but like HL1, the modders are flocking to it.
