http://www.clan-wod.com/basicroom.htm I was looking at this guy's tutorials... and he uses the hollow button :\ I thought I seen a couple times that you shouldn't use the hollow button... but then he has you select the brushes and angle them to where they're not overlapping [/] erm sorta makes it look like that lol is this a nono?

The hollow button is to make a room, where the player can walk around in it.

i make all my rooms with the hollow button now... i know what you mean with the angle thing i do that too... and i make the roof and the floor to where they doing intersect with the surrounding walls... this is a good habbit if you do it right because if you want to use the fit tool where it fits the texture to each side of the brush then the small faces of the brushes look like sheit... so i cover them up by making them at angles (kind of hard to explain)

Yep. If you resize the brushes afterwards, there's no problem using the 'hollow' function. It is said that the function is bad, because it's assumed some people use the hollow function and think it's ready.

As JV said there is nothing wrong with using the hollow tool - I just don't like it because it leads to lazy mapping....... just a personal choice I make..
