Modding Gewitter

I've been trying to mod Gewitter. My goal is to remove the fog, already done, And to be able to see from one end of the map to the other. The problem is, that you have to progressively walk towards the buildings in order to see them, as if the farplane still exists. Right now farplane is set at 10,000+.
I have tried the " fastsky" thing, and that doesn't work, and various other farplane and bias settings, along with farplane color and whatnot.
If you hover obove the map, you can see from one corner to the next, but come to ground level you can't.
I'm stumped on this one and would appreciate the help...thanks

I too have tried to figure this out - without any luck. had to settle with extending the fog out as far to the farplane to appear natural 2800 -3000 and added some rain to go with the ambient sound.
Had to take out the global weather exec cus the lightning resets the map default fog setting.
Code: Select all
level.rain_length = "64"
level.rain_width = "0.5"
level.rain_density = "10"
level.rain_min_dist = "2048"
$world farplane_color (.333 .333 .329) //from thunder 1
level.fogplane = 2900
$world farplane level.fogplane
$world farplane_bias 800 //800viper - was 25

yea, tried that before and couldn't get it to work!
I don't really understand vis at all. But if the map was made with vis that wont let you see beyond certain points, then i think it is fixed that way and can not be changed with script?
anybody ??

To me it appeared that it's just the farplane that clips it. Oh, well, I could be wrong.

I was hoping i was wrong - Ive tried many things and the map remains stubborn! I've also seen many posts on this subject without result.

I tried this:
Code: Select all
level.farplane = 9999
$world farplane level.farplane
local.farplane = $world.farplane
it works good but seems like fireplane cannot go more over a certain point..so 9999 is the same of 3500 in this map..someone can tell me why?!
I also have been thinking on how to remove fog compleatly for all the day..but without results.....some ideas? some peopple think it can't be done
by scripting but nothing is impossible(I HOPE!).
I tried also to create a new weather scr and execte it from gewitter scr but nothing changed! man.. I wonder why the author insert fog in this damn map! damn it!

If you don't have the .map file you're not going to get it the way you want.

I sent you the email with the program to convert bsp to map

I have that laying around somewhere. Useless to be honest. The only way to get Gewitter the way you really want is to rebuild the sky box and do away with the settings made inside radiant itself. Anything else is fruitless.
And if you were able to do that, the map would run bad of the maps layout. No way to properly use vis.

You'll have tons of errors......I don't remember the right term but you'll have multiple brushes within multiple brushes..... somebody hop in here please.
You're doomed to failure for sure.

bsp to map to bsp? Your map will be screwed up, mohaa will most certainly crash.
You could try... $world remove
lol
(note: plz do not try it! Else have task manager stand-by to force shut down the mohaa program!)
