Bounding boxes not showing...

When i put an object (not a brush) in to my map there is no bounding box (in the 2d view). how do i turn it on...
im seriously out of ideas

I've always mapped without bounding box...
Never used it. I didn't know it was possible to have a boundingbox.

i mean its anoying... i can only see the stupid little arrow.. does anyone have an answer
