so the ambientlight is for night and the suncolor is for day right?
can you also use ambientlight to make those dim day maps?

im also having trouble making skys, when i type the suncolor bla blabla in the in the entity window, it adds the suncolor to all the brushes even tho i only have the sky brushes selected, and my map wont compile

nope, both ambientlight and sun values are for nighttime. 70 70 70 is full daylight, 10 15 30 are decent night values.

dont select brushes, just hit N with nothing selected, select the bottommost value, and apply it to that ;)

Yes, it was, every entity is described there.
