Im converting a day map to a night map. I changed the sky texture and set the worldspawn to

ambientlight / 8 8 20
suncolor / 10 15 30
sunflarename / none

(lightmapdensity / 4) Now this one Im not sure, the value was 16 so I decreased it to 4.

The problem is the map is brighter than it was before!
The sky texture looks good but everything is over bright

whats the duh factor?

I don't use light map density for night maps. On occassion I'll use sun direction if I want "moon" shadows. Ambient light is somewhere between 8 8 8, and 16 16 16. If I need to light a certain area or areas in the map I use the "light" function, and go from there. Sometimes a fire barrel, (burning debris ), or light from a window.

Nice double post. ;)

Try removing some light entities and evening the ambientlight values.
