Hi I am new to this whole mapping thing and I was wondering if someone could tell me how to angle a spotlight up(not straight up) but point it at an object.
I also have another question I just thought of I have seen in some map custom text that is to small to have been made by a brush or two. I was wonder how do I make custom text for my map.

Sorry Guess I was kind of vaga. Here is a screen of what my spotlight looks like at 45 angle. It is doing it on the ground I want it to point at the ball. I want it to point up. I need to know how to do this.

angle is wrong for you, you want angle
s
or using real numbers:
(rotate 40 degreen around X axis, 30 around y, and leave z as it is)

Thank you that did the trick.

I was also wondering is there away to make the beam bigger and maybe change the color.
And still would like to know about the custom text from the first question.

Lost first reply so I'll retype.
Highlight the searchlight, go to the 2d sideview, hit the "R" key, item can now be rotated up using r mouse key

Okay I got them pointed to where I wanted but when I compile and load up the game they are still point straight like the pic above. Not up at an angle like MOHrad shows what the heck.

Okay figured it out (this might help some else with the same problem out).
I put in angle first with the angle i wanted.
The I put in angles with the angles I wanted and it show correct on MOHrad but not in the game.
This was because i didn't deleted out the angle I created and the loading process saw that first and ingorned the other angles.
I would still like some help with putting custom text in the game if anybody knows how.

Rotateing models with r is wrong and won't work very well you have to set angles . A model starts at angles ( 0 0 0 ) when you first put it in the map . The angels are pitch yaw and roll . Pitch is what you need to change to point up but pitch rotates in a forward direction so to pitch up you either have to set a negitive angle or a high number . for example to pitch up 45 degrees you either set a pitch of -45 or 315 . To rotate on the top view change the yaw you probably won't need to change the roll . In the playerspotlight script I made I used the searchlight_off.tik and put a small corona inside the light to make it look like it was on . I used a func_beam for the beam but if your light won't move you can use a cylinder with one of the textures in the common menu . If you make a cylinder the press v to show the vertices select the ones at the top for example then on the top view you can use r to make one end of the cylinder larger then do the same for the middle row to make it look good .
Also Hitman forum rules state that pictures should be a max size of 640x480 and that your post could be deleted if forum rules are not followed .
