I have made my first room with the tut. it works.

but how do i start making a bigger map? with terrain and sky?

I just create a big box, as terrain and sky and build my buildings in that box? or what?

any map you make needs to be completely enclosed. most maps do this with a skybox, which is just a huge box completely encircling their map. it has to be taller, wider, and longer than any part in your map, and for it to show a sky it needs a sky texture.

I generally make some terrain as a start, when i'm happy with that i make a big brush that's about 1024 units out to each side (no need to be so precise, it's just what i do), apply a sky texture, hollow it, and lengthen sides when i need to build out more.
