How do you convert .mid (midi) files into .mp3 files? I wanted to add a music theme into my map (after fixing the two big problems in my below post---please help with those too :cry:), but the music only works with .mp3 files...also, is this script correct in my music folder?

Code: Select all

// obj_bunkers music

path sound/amb_stereo
normal Goldeneye_64_James_Bond_Theme.mid

!normal volume 1
!normal loop
!normal fadetime 1.0
The .mid needs to be .mp3 but that's the only problem I can see...I got this script for Nemesis's site by the way, so that's what it's based on, I'm going to look over the tut on this site again but if there's an error above please point it out. Thanks again.

A midi file basically just contains the notes for the music. How it sounds depends on the syntesizer hardware used to play it.
To make it a mp3 file, you need to record it beeing played and convert the sound file to mp3 ( from wav format probably ).

The winamp disc writer plugin writes to Wav files.
A free ripper tool like CDEx can be used to convert to mp3.
