I constantly get irritated by MSN users that send me messages, and then go offline. I cant be bothered with having a bunch of IM messages in my screen waiting for people to come online again so I usually just close it and count on them messing again if it was important.

So I kind of wonder why people use a messaging protocol that does not really seem good at letting people communicate?

( And no, this is not a Microsoft sux post )

I find it really helpful and enjoyable to chat to people with, I don't currently use any other IM thingys, unless X-fire counts

I like MSN, everybody is using it in my country. And most people I know from somewhere else too. I only had to install ICQ once but that was because to have contact with just one guy from russia :?, but I got arround 150 ppl in my contact list in MSN messener.

However, msn messenger is a good and populair communitation-tool, that's just my opinion. Got no problems with it and I use it the whole day when my PC is on.

I use MSN only for the sake of people using it. If it was not for them, I wouldn't use it at all. And still, I don't use the MSN client but a Jabber-to-MSN transport.

I use 3 clients - Gadu-Gadu (a Polish IM; combined with PowerGG it makes a really fancy piece of software, ;) not only for instant messaging), Xfire and Psi (Jabber client).

The great thing about Jabber is that the server itself can connect to other IM servers via plugins, called transports - thanks to this I have ICQ, AIM, YIM, MSN, Tlen.pl (another Polish IM) and Jabber in 1 program! :)

MSN is a completely crap pager. I would not bother with it except that WHen I joined a clan, they unfortunately used that for reasons that still elude me...

ah well looking at the poll results, it seems everyone should stop letting other people influence us into using MSN!~~

at the wnd of the day, whats th point in using an IM when nobody has it, so, to those of you above who just sed "seems by the poll, people should do their own thing rather then following others"... WHY? if everybody else has it then isnt it easyer if you get it to? i know for a fact that nobody i talk to has any other IM unless in another country or using a MAC, and even then they still use msn.

You should use the software that is used the most by the people you know. Not the other way around.

old but what the heck, ok, just dont use AIM and i dont care.

Messenger Live has the ability to leave messages to offline contacts anyway. It feels fairly nice and once cleaned up isnt so bad. stupid winks!

MSN might be popular now(how do I know which is most used? heh) but in past days ICQ dominated, and then AIM( I could guess AIM and MSN are close). At the end of the day, if people want to 'page' you, they will find another way if you do not submit to using whichever thing you dont feel like using. Ive grudgingly used MSN, and I still have an AIM, even had an ICQ but I draw the line at yahoo jsut on principle of ENOUGH ALREADY! There are many people who wont even install windows, and ask them to install msn im sure you will enjoy the resounding laughter coming back at you =)

The moral. You are not a cow, nor a gazelle, nor a caribou(I hope?) You have a choice to not be a creature of the herd, and that end is achieved by making your own choices. If you dont like something, you dont have to support it just because everyone else does, and no one should recommend you do. We live in the information age, and there are a billion ways to communicate with people. You can always find another way. And it would actually be pretty darn hard to find a chat program that 'no one' has.

As for the church of PKM, I heard it was condemned due to leaky plumbing...

my msn is always on nowadays but barely used due to xfire. Oh yea, and due to the fact that no one wants to talk to me!~

any online comm program, or even a game, is only as good as it's fanbase. whoever uses it is how useful it is. use what you will, encourage more to try something else if you dont like what the majority uses.

it's the ebb and flow of popularity. works on everything except taxes and life length.

it did and it was but that's all different now. deacon OBGYN says that with this week's offerings, we can finally afford that medication to stop the pipe from leaking. you should have been there sunday, splaet-os; Rev. House of Pain gave a sermon on " Word to your moms, i came to drop bombs ! ". he had the PKM choir getting radical.

i really don't wanna know what the reverend does with his ''palms'' , what he does in the privacy of his own bathroom is his business, sir.
