I have just started using the radiant level editor to make a level. At first I had lots of problems but after 4 days ive figured them all out, but now I have my level compiled and loaded there is no sound on it when in the game no gun sound no granade sound nothing.
The level is only a large box room with 4 lights so not sure what it is.

Please help.

Place the .bsp file in the main/maps/dm folder (create a dm folder if not there), and test your map as a Team Match game. You may also want to add Axis and Allied spawn points to your map--along with the single player start.

then i assume you're making a singleplayer map. put the prefix test_ on your mapname.

If you have weapons, you must be running it as a multiplayer game. Be sure to start the server by going to the multiplayer menu, and not by going to the list of maps in the lobby.

Also, check your options to make sure you have the sound volume turned up.

Once again, the .bsp file needs to be in Mohaa/main/maps/dm folder. There has to be one info_player_start and at least one each info_player_allied and info_player_axis in the map--recompile after adding them.

The min file is created by the game and should show up in the dm folder after you have played your map from there.

when I put the bsp file in the dm folder, when loading the map via console it says it cant find it and in multiplayer it dosent show in the list.

the files of the map are as following box.bak box.map box.min box.prt box.vis box.bsp all these files are in the maps folder.

Is this the correct place for the rest of the files.

I tryed a miltiplayer map off the your site and it showed up in the list and worked properly but was a pak file.

dont worry about pk3s just yet, they're just packages for maps.

what kind of map is it? TDM? FFA? Obj? SP?

TDM/FFA/RB: map in maps>dm folder
Obj: map in maps>Obj folder
SP: map in maps folder

if it's SP put a prefix of test_ on it.

Ok, lets start with the basics. The only files you need to keep are box.map and box.bsp. The rest are files are created by the compilers to make the bsp file, and are now just garbage.

The .map file is only needed if you wish to edit the map again. The .bsp file is the only file used by the game and it should not be in the maps folder (singleplayer folder)--move it to maps/dm (multiplayer folder). In other words, create a new folder named "dm" inside the maps folder and move box.bsp into it. You can leave box.map where it is--so the editor can find it.

A .pk3 file is a compresed (zipped) version of the files/folders that are normally found in main. In fact, you can uncompress a pk3 by changing the extention to .zip and unzipping it with Winzip. So, your file(s) do not need to be compressed to work.

Do not load your map using the console. Go to the multiplayer menu and start a Team Match server--you don't have to be online. You should then have weapons and sound.

Hope that helps!
