Ok I am making a door on the floor (hay that rymse) but cannt get it to work right. made the door, the origin, gave them the func_rotatingdoor, but can not figure out what else I need to do to get it to work. I want to get it to open upwards from the floor. I have tryed every angle in the entitys window but still no luck. Any ideas

Have you tried the angles for up and down (-1 and -2)?
You might need to turn it into a script_object and script its movement.
DANG

Yeah I tried the -1 and -2 but still trys to open to the side and not up. I was hoping that I wouldnt have to script it I have not learned very much about doing that yet. But no better time then now I guess.

The thing is is that is not what I want. I want the door to only open up not always away from the player.

Ok heres what i did. I was making a door just like you. All i did was make was CSG subtract the space for the door from the wall. Then place the door in the space. (Sorry i'm being so basic i just wanted to make sure there aren't any misunderstandings.) Then you right click the door and go to func_door. Then set angle to U=up. ( Theres that little bar in the console that looks like this - 135 90 45
180 U D 360
225 270 315
You want the U. After that it should work.(It did for me
) Hope this helps.
P.S. Site admin-do you think it would help if i made a tutorial on this? It not very hard but a lot of people don't know how.
