In the spirit of wasting bandwidth: What does your desktop look like?

Post a screenshot, and if you want: describe and/or defend it
Is it a mess? Is it a sleek place? Is it just wierd?

Here is mine;



It's a Linux flavour called Ubuntu ( Version 5.04, codenamed "The Hoary Hedgehog" ).

What I've got here:
* AVI files to the right are Blender3D videotutorials,
* PDF file is the documentation for the "Open Dynamics Engine" ( An open scource physics engine )
* OpenTTD is an open scource implementation of "Transport Tycoon".
* The JPEG is an image of me and my grandfather
* Rapid SVN is a client application to access Subversion servers ( A version tracking system similar ( but better some say ) to CVS )
* The 8 squares in the lower right ( next to the trash ) are the 8 virtual desktops I use... mostly just use 3 or 4... but you never know

The rest of the stuff is mostly crap I never got around to deciding what to do with.

your pic is pretty weird:S what is it from? linux! your desktop hardly hgas anyhting and everything is huge!

i usualy wouldnt post my desktop as i neevr do anything special. However i think i might just to see what people say. Well i can probably gueess "blue"

nice and simple no mem hog picture , nice and plain to see the icons easy.

* mohaa stuff,
* short cuts to folders where all donwloads from stuff goes and gets sorted.
* my docs of course
* my pc
* 3ds max and setup to fix it every so often..:S
* text files of work on admin pro
* gaiaposter.exe..forum spammer..hm..
* shutdown.exe to shut my pc down when net dies or timed
* autocoord.exe and template is more mohaa stuff.

I normally have around 40 icons on my desktop. I made the custom background image myself--it kind of grew from a simple grid.



* Utilities on the left, and fun stuff on the right.
* On the left is a folder for "Unused Desktop" shortcuts.
* I think I am going to delete the "Korea Forgotten Conflict Demo" because the controls are to hard to figure out.
* TV Show and Movies are shotcuts to folders where I store AVIs.
* I love my Azureus bittorrent client!
* Roger Wilco is a great voice chat program.

wow tom i did never see anything so neat and tidy.

I wish my room was like that..even after i make me brother tidy it ( i never have once )

edit: siz bout image size, i tried to do thumb? but it didnt work?

It consists of a blue type background custom made by me...

Chucky, Freddy, The Leprachaun, and the girl from the ring are all in the eyes... I got freaked out by those people!!!

umm, I have dual monitors as why it looks like I took two screenshots but really its one!!! I have all my links on my second monitor, and my first one is clean!!!

I have Windows XP SP2 with the Windows 98 Theme!!! Yay!!!

This is mine, it's well cleaned up but usually my screen was full of icons.
The At0miC folder on the right corner is my favourite one, I got many files in it and sorted, like I got folders for videos, images, music, programs mapping and more.
I use my desktop for downloading stuff to it, else I'll forgot I've downloaded something



This is my mapping folder. Well it has all kind of mapping, modding and editing tools as you see and I got all the pk3 files of moh, cod, coduo and quake unpacked in folders.


My start > program list is also sorted in video, mapping, sounds, games and more folders, so it won't be a huge list after all.

At the moment I'm trying to enable hardware 3D acceleration for my crappy integrated vid card in Linux. I've been messing around with my driver's source code and the X.org doesn't really work now, therefore I can't show you my Linux desktop(s).

But hey, here's my wincrap one:

Blurred out the photo in the bottom right corner, just in case.

The icons at the bottom are the tools I use. Games on the right. Everything else - whatever, wherever.

Tray icons: Soulseek (a p2p client), Xfire, foobar2000 (music player), eMule, Psi (Jabber client), FlashGet, Gadu-Gadu (a Polish IM system) & network traffic meter.

Who's taht in the corner? doesnt look like anything obscene....

Yeah, it's nothing obscene, it's just that the person in the photo shouldn't be aware of the fact that I've got a picture of her on my desktop.

My mate used this as an avatar in some forum and forgot to delete it.

Mohaahacks.zip is the source of the MoHAA buffer overflow and player flood exploits. I downloaded it for educational purposes.

Oh, and the desktop background image is some art related to Paradise Lost's latest album.
