Not for me. I installed flash 8 like it asked, then the video started loading. But, the shuffle caught up to the progress bar and it started sputtering (no delay for buffering). I closed the window and went to the web pag agian, but it did the same thing.

I don't know if it is using Windows Media Player or not, but my WMP has been giving me trouble ever scence I installed SPS 2.

Hog you have to have the latest flash plugin:

http://www.macromedia.com/software/flashplayer/

And how it works is you can now import your video into flash and compress it as a thing called a .FLV (flash video), flash player 8 lets me use the latest codecs to try to get it to stream brilliantly but obviously 18mb files was pushing it too far, I knocked it down to 10.8mb but it takes about about 45 mins to compress each time, I will get it to 5 or 6mb hopefully, then I can will play around with it once I know how :)

i have SP1, excellent comp/cxn and it hangs at the beginning with the red smears everywhere, with a black box in the middle as if it were loading a small wmv or flash or something; but it never does.

10Mb

After you changed it to 10Mb, it worked better, but still sputtered at the end of the video--when the screen was full of numbers. However, when I went to flash advanced settings and allowed it to store 10Mb for your site, it worked fine--although I'm not happy with letting a website store that much stuff on my hard drive.

To me it seems like the old flash was better. I never had sputtering sound and video before because it would cache the whole thing before starting. And, whats up with that camera and microphone setting? Live streaming back to the source?

No way does it do this: "Flash Player 8 offers substantial performance gains with video, ensuring faster and smoother video playback."

Played fine for me(i guess), I heard sound but jus a black box in the middle with nothing, Is it loading or does the movie start as soon as the sound starts?

Maybe you guys are missing the "latest codecs" for the video image. I guess you could do a system restore and go back to a time before you installed flash 8.

I have seen that black screen on a few (not all) sites using an embeded WMP streaming video player as well. And yes, I am using WMP 10.

If you can hear the audio but not see the video it means you need to upgrade your flash plugin. The video starts as soon as the music plays(or at least its meant to)

If I can work out how to let it buffer a little I think I can get rid of the stutter effect.

It does not run through wmp, it is flashes own video format now and it uses the flash layer to run the video, im sure it will all come good in a couple of months as people start to develop more and more for flash8.

After this Flash 8 update I can see just empty spaces in places where flash anims should be.
