This is a really nice guy I work with, he does all the php stuff on the jobs I do, its his new website.
He is a really nice guy, very religious, excellent at his job.
Basically he is selling advertising space on this page, 50% of all income goes to charity, its a pretty cool idea, check it out, he plans on getting a million US dollars by Christmas.
I truly wish him luck, read the blog bit on there, so I'm doing my bit to help him out by posting this link for you guys to check out.
We should chip in and get a .MAP advert $10, I might even buy it myself

So, what will draw people to the site? Why should anyone place an ad at a site that has nothing for the viewers except ads? Ok, so if he makes his goal, 1/2 million Dollars goes to UK street kids. But, he keeps the other half million?
Frankly, the site seems like a scam. Here in the US, charities, and those who collect funds in the name of charity, must be registered with the local, state, and federal government. I don't see anything on your friends site that looks official. So, my guess would be that the kids will get nothing and your friend has his bags packed for a Christmas getaway, ha ha!!!

I wouldnt be pointing anyone here to a scam site, like I said he is a very religous nice guy, it wouldnt even enter his thoughts to be scamming money out of kids.
Yeah I guess he wants to keep half the money but I know for a fact the other half will reach whichever charity he decides to go with.
I guess he got the idea from this site:

this kid has sold 569,100 pixels for $1 each, DAMNNNN why didnt I think of that.

Well, all I can say is advertisers must be desperate for space to pay $1 for each 1x1 pixcel.
I saw a reporter on Cspan, some time ago, that had his own world news editorial page on the internet. When asked about the small ad banner at the top of the page, he said that one little banner gave him an income of about $4000 a month. The way it works is that the banner company pays about 3 cents for every hit his web page gets--and he gets a lot of hits per day!
So, to make money, all you have to do is keep people interested in returning to your website everyday. I wish I could do that--I need a second income to keep up with inflation!!!

Now you got me thinking
I need to build a useful site and get some banners going on.
Just the stats from the jobs I do are quite mad, I never click banners but its something like a 16% click through rate, the virals I make and associated html emails that go with them get something like 7% click through, banners do work.
