I was wondering what funct_window does to a brush. I wanted to make a vent shaft that you could climb into by breaking a hole in the side of it. In the place that i wanted the player to be able to break through i gave the funct_window so taht i could break through it, im conserned that giving it this function will also allow me to see through the brush. SO...back to my question...what does giving a brush the funct_window do to it?

No, making a brush a func_window doesn't make it translucent. To get more info on windows and how to make a proper window, go to

Good luck.

making it a func_window makes it shatter into glass pieces when broken. sorta like func_crate makes things shatter into wood pieces.

Yeah, the best way to break into your tunnel would be to make boards across the opening. And, then make each board a func_crate with health set a little higher than normal--so they don't break on the first wack or pistal shot.
Also, to make it more real, you can hide broken board ends inside the unbroken boards.

An advantage of a func_window is that u easily can set up the broken version.
For a different (and more complicate

) approach, u can read
this threadand the mentioned
tutorial.
That way, u ought to get a perfect way to break a hole in ur vent shaft.
