That is very much the kinda conspiracy/religious thing I like to read. I have a Nostradamus book, I will dig it out sometime and type it a couple of paragraphs that blew me away when I read them.

But if even one person has seen the future then it means our whole reality is like a tape being played, I like to think I have free will.

edit: as I hit submit, I realised I had started a sentence with "But" seemed right at the time, my English teacher at school hit my palms with a ruler cos I started a sentence with but, I shoulda remembered.

Thanks Ace

I find it a fascinating subject that has profound implications for everyone, roots, why where here and why do we think the way we do has everytrhing to do with our history. I read a lot of conspiracy theories, not that I believe it all but its intreging and im sure some of its true.

Can't wait till Dec 2012, thats one of the biggest theories ever, dating back of course to the Mayans.......

Know whats funny? The world/people have advanced so much, technology wise but can't create fire without a lighter or matches. Loosing such fundamental skills would leave humans inept if society collapses.

that came to me watching Survivor chumps trying to start a fire. lol

i personally like to think the world is just a huge game that's somewhat obsolete and isn't the center of most gamer's attentions anymore and just a few players play it anymore and we're all just AI.

And yes we evolved.

Dont judge by the idiots who sign up for survivor, there are quite a few people who could make a fire without a match right now, and the rest of us would master it in a week, because we understand how it is done, not to mention concepts like thermodynamics and friction.

Of course, those are the simplest concepts in the scientific chain, because of necessity.

And on the other hand, the odds of every library book being destroyed as 'man descends into anrachy' is pretty low... actualy man descending into anarchy isnt very high on the odds list, although society doing so may be... but the important distinction there is that societies that break down simply provide mankind a new opportunity at forming a society... even if millions die, that still would only 'normalize' the planet, providing more accurate numbers for workforces required and things like 'scientists' needed on this planet, because no one can really argue we suffer from anything other then an excess of people to do any job we are willing to have done.

So in conclusion! I dont know whats supposed to happen in 2012, but bring on the madness, our stale society is due for a wake up call~

ps --- like the dj on local radio station who blissfully comments on the multi million dollar mission to pluto(which i agree is fairly inane at the moment, but does have a significant societal and cultural purpose -> We have explored all the available planets in our solar system), anyway.. .the comment is 'yea, like we couldnt find anything better to do with the money here on earth' .... I would definately argue - no, we cant. The price of this mission is probably comparable to a couple squads of tanke, or an airbase... or any number of socail programs of debateable value. So the point is not that exploring pluto is of marginal value, but that most idiots can only see that alot of what we do doesnt work, or is a bit pointless, if we are talking about exploring a large rock many AU's from the earth. Or to say it another way, people are stupid, and would rather spend the money on developing a digital watch that tells you the weather in tokyo from anywhere in the world. =)
