like and should still sound like only needs to listen to this small clip from the classic late 70s (79-80) People Who Died - Jim Carroll Band. i'm looking at you fans of this new ''punk'' sound. also fans of jet, the strokes and the white stripes. the guitar work alone should be taught as your basic two chord rock sound. lyrics are hysterical. some of you young pups might recognize this song as part of the closing credits to dawn of the dead.

listen and learn. the album is catholic boy by the jim carroll band.

Man, that was pretty cool, though you know Real punk comes from England.

Heres one of my faves, its called "White Riot" by The Clash:

White riot - I wanna riot
White riot - a riot of my own
White riot - I wanna riot
White riot - a riot of my own

Listen to it here

the clash are punk gods but real punk came from new york. the stooges, new york dolls, mc5 and more were doing the initial sound before punk became punk. let alone the ramones. england bands went apeshit when they came out.

my personal favorite clash song is ghetto defient, the rare version without the lyrics is even better.

No No No!

True Punk is Greenday!

Sorry... jsut wanted to see how that would look in print... as funny as i tohught.

As much as I like the clash, If I was an entertainment interviewer or something, I would seriously punch anyone who aswered the question 'what were your inspirations; with the words 'london calling' on principle. Then of course, I would have to get someone bigger then me to punch me in the teeth for being and entertainment interviewer, and then perhaps kick myself in the groin for being aware of just how many people put that answer with that question.
