Help with MBuild?

Post by Lord-Ironfist »

Hello,

I'm a new MOH Mapper, and I have run into some problems. I have been trying to follow the tutorials word for word, and I have got to the part where you have to compile the map. But the problem is whenever I use MBuilder and set the directory, it says "Couldn't write to builder ini."

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Thank you,

Here are my settings--may help you figure it out.

Game Directory:
C:\PROGRAM FILES\EAGAMES\MOHAA

Compile Directory:
C:\PROGRAM FILES\MOHAATools

Map Source Directory:
C:\PROGRAM FILES\EAGAMES\MOHAA\main\maps\tltrude

Notice that I have my .map files stored in a folder name "tltrude". Doing it that way, keeps all the junk compile files out of the "maps" folder.

builder.ini is in the windows directory on my system are you useing windows? If not hmm maybe make a windows directory and see if that works . This is what is in mine yours will be different probably depending on what path you set for the game , compiler and maps directories .

Code: Select all

[PATHS]
COMPILER DIRECTORY=D:\MOHAAT~1
MAP DIRECTORY=D:\MOHAAT~1
GAME DIRECTORY=
[OPTIONS]
LAUNCH=0
SABSP=1
SAVIS=1
SALIGHT=1
COPY=0
COMMANDLINE=+set developer 1 +set thereisnomonkey 1 +set cheats 1 +set ui_console 1
GAMETYPE=0

Maybe you have some kind of security set that does not allow writting to the Windows folder. Is your computer part of a Network?

Yes, it is my windows folder, you can't write anything to it or make a new folder in it.

Well thanks for the help everyone.

Oh, one last question,

I have been trying the tutorials and it says add a "Script Model" I have been looking all over MRadiant for it but I can't seem to find it. How do you get the script screen up?

Thanks,

If your right clicking in the 2d view and not getting the menu you need to copy entdef.pk3 from Mohtools to your main directory in MOH.
