Horizon Fade out over the Ocean

Post by Phantomwarrior »

I've seen a stage by tltrude that has a really cool fade out over the ocean. It has water and sky that seem to mesh and create a sense of vanishing to infinity on the horizon. How is this done?

The water and the sky textures must match. But, the horizon is normally just part of the skybox texture. Which map are you talking about?

The skybox is "Lighthouse" and the water is "Northafrika_shorline". Players can see the bottom skybox brush, which looks like water, and the animated shoreline texture is applied to a curved patch mesh. By the way, the .map file comes with that map, so you can just copy and paste the skybox and water patch--and anything else you like.
