All textures disappeared ... ?

Hello, I've searched the forums but I can't find an solution to my problem:

When I compiled my map with Mbuilder it gave an error about not able to read mymap.prt, well I fixed that leak by making a new skybox (read that somewhere), but when I compiled my map again and viewed it in mohaa itself, all textures (walls/roofs etc) were gone, exept the doors/furniture and stuff. I quit MohRadiant and re-opened my map, but also there everything was gone except the doors/furniture :S::S:S:S

What's going on ? ?

The editor gets its textures from the pk3s in MOHAA/main. Maybe you deleted one that had your textures in it.

Nope, the whole texture boxes which formed the walls etc are gone aswell... just gone ...

Those boxes are called "brushes". In this case they seem to be worldspawn brushes, but the skybox is also made of worldspawn brushes and they are still there.

Go to "View" and make sure "Cubic Clipping" is not check marked. I see the button pressed in for "cubic terrain clipping" also. It looks like a green landscape.

No, the grass you can see and the concrete stones aren't gone somehow, these was which I build after the previous save ... so actually every brush (worldspawn) before is gone ... :S :S how that come ? and even more important, how do I get 'em back?

uh oh. i've had this happen before. check the size in kbs/mbs of the .map file. if it seems too small...you're screwed (unless you've kept the snapshots, if so simply go back a couple and open one in radient and then rename to your map's name.map. i don't know what causes it or why it happens but i've had it happen twice before and could never get the worldspawn brushes back.

nevermind, i just saw in your screenie that there was indeed at least one worldbrush.

A map will load until it hits a bad brush use map info and see how many it says you have then open the .map file in notepad and look if it says you have 20 brushes then the bad brush is possible brush 20 or 21 so backup your map then delete one of those brushes and try your map in radiant again .

Hey, I'm having the very same problem.

i can get my back up copys working fine, no problems at all, when i delete the .map file with the brushes that are missing/invisable and replace it with a backup again its fine, but when i come out of radiant and reload the newly saved map, its the same again?!

(btw, im a fairly new mapper, this websites great big thanks to all who have worked on this site and thank you to anybody who atempts to help me out here)

*EDIT*

I'm glad i didn't make anew thread for this problem because after i did alittle more research into the problem i found it was a script error. So to fix this i went back about 4 snapshots. However, i would like to know in a little detail how to fix the corupt brush in the .map file that isnt working. I believe i know which brush it is but hwo would i find that in a .map file opened up in notepad?!?!

(Once again, thanks to this site for helping me help myself with this problem. ) :D

That sound like a problem I had once. My .map file crashed and burned. It turned out to be quotation marks I had put in a message trigger value. Appearently the editor adds the quotes, so when I added them in too, the line had double quotes and made everything go kaboom. I found the error by opening a copy of the .map file with Wordpad and deleting sections until I narrowed it down to the bad line.

Btw, I saw a small untextured box near the center of my map when all the stuff vanished. So, that is one clue that there is an error in the .map text.

To find the bad brush try this . Open the map in radiant and under edit->map info find out how may brushes it thinks you have . Open the .map file in notepad and goto that brush . brushes start at 0 so if it says you have 10 brushes then brush 0 to 9 should be good and brush 10 should be the bad one . Delete that brush you don't have to bother with renumbering the rest of the brushes just save the map and try it . The brushes should renumber themselves when you either save or add a new brush . In preferences make sure use quake3 .map format is not checked in fact uncheck it if it is checked and try opening your map before you delete the bad brush .
