i'm trying to use lod terrain to make a small ''trash pile'' 128uX128u by around 64u high. is it possible to make a lod terrain that small in width & length ? i'm also having a lot of trouble with removing vectors (?) when i made a bigger brush and then trying to make it smaller.

What you need to use is a patch mesh, its similar to a small piece of LOD.
Not opened radiant for a year so cant tell you what buttons to push.

Well what you can do is make a 512x512 patch of LOD terrain and then just delete the triangles that you don't want/need. Here's the instructions (I just copied and pasted them from another one of my posts so they might look familiar):
Code: Select all
To delete terrain triangles:
1) Open your map.
2) Press 'shift+f'
3) Hold down 'ctrl+shift' and select each individual triangle that you want to delete.
4) With the triangles selected, check the "Delete (neighbors at max detail)" option.
5) Click "Done"
6) Eureka.
To undo a deletion:
1) Open your map.
2) Press 'shift+f'
3) Hold down 'ctrl+shift' and select each individual triangle that was previously deleted that you want to return to normal.
4) With the triangles selected, uncheck the "Delete (neighbors at max detail)" option.
5) Click "Done"
6 Eureka.
And what do you mean by "vectors"?
Hope that helps.

easier to use a patch mesh and form into a pile adn use a debris texture.
use ctrl to select the verticies u need to push or pull

Use a brush for every little piece of trash. Something to keep you busy.

well well well , seems someone is going for my smack-a** title. hog-o i did the patch mesh and it came out ''good enough''. viper, i actually did that in my 676 south philly map for rubble from a broken wall, had around 100 different small pieces before i came to my senses.
