wow... this is new.

MSG_ReadDeltaEntity: unrecognized entity field type 23283 for field 201

i tried to connect to a MOH server today, went to get a drink, came back and the console (out of game console) was up with this error.

*huh*?

i tried it again with three separate servers and it would get through challenge and connect response, so obviously the server was talking, but it would hang there after sending the connectresponse and then just kill the game and bring up the out of game console.
my internet is fine, i turned off my firewall and checked my AV... no luck.

whats wrong?

This seems to happen when the connection is just slightly slow or unstable. However, in many cases you can still connect to the server by bringing down the console while it's connecting, and immediately type 'reconnect'. If the loading screen doesn't appear in a few seconds, type 'reconnect' again, etc. Usually that'll get you in quickly, and you can play normally on the server.

It actually happened to me countless times, but only on modded servers. And browsing through the Q3 source I come to the conclusion that jv is right, it could happen when there is a large number of entities and lag.

Hey guys...Well This recently has started happening to me....I have tested everything and the problem seems to be an ISP problem. It only crashes my game on 1 server...but I play in that server the most, so I got no clue whats going on. =(

Yes it's entirely a networking problem. Not much you can do other than complain to your ISP about it. It may happen on that server only because they have modified it in such a way that it adversely affects network utilization, e.g. through spawning lots of objects and/or the use of other server-side mods.

Yeah they have a spawn protection, rifle mod, and punishments. They don't have any spawned objects that I know of....So yeah My ISP may have a phone call in the next few days.
