Ok, i think this would be mainly script so i'll post it here...
I have never used custom sounds in a map before, let alone for doors. However i have an "airlock" type door i would like to sound alittle more, hydrolic, and i have some sounds that suit it nicly. BUT, where the hell do i start? i do not see any tut's on adding custom door noises but i gather it follows the same lines as adding custom ambient?
Well, anyways, i would like a simple example script for me to work on, and i dont know what the key/values for the door would be. i searched but with no luck.
(i'll add some screenies of the door, i realy like it, can you tell where it was from origanally?)

Well, you might have a hard time getting custom door sounds to work. You'd have to find out how the game chooses the proper ubersound alias. Start by checking how the stock metal doors are made to sound metal, then find the sound in ubersound.scr and this might give you some idea already.

yea i suppose.
Another theory if this fails, is to switch off the door sound completely, and the switch i have controling the door, also at the same time, starts up a the custom sound. The door, btw, opens upwards and then closes as soon as it reaches the top, it takes about 5secs to get to the top and come back down again... so if i added a speaker that is activated by the same switch the door is, and a sound that lasts as long as the door is moving for, would that work?!?!?!?!?!
If so, can you direct me to a tut that explains making speakers link to triggers and the script for it.
Cheers.

I think this link will help.

To add a new sound, you will need an "ubersound workaround". But, which workaround you use depends on which game it is for. There are tutorials for that here at .map .
