I've got sliding doors, is there any sounds like from star trek or something that has a electronic sound instead of teh default sound? and if so how do I do it?

Found it, called "dooropen.wav"
How would I make it so that the door makes the sound when it is triggered.

open pakscape and open the pak3.pk3 i think it is pak3 and find it in there if the wav is in windows mediaplayer i right click and a line should say record and click that(u have to have an mic. in order to record)that is how i make my custom sounds
to make it trigger i really dont know, when i make my custom sounds i just make them and then i make the folders from where i poored it out of and pak it back thats all i do and while in the game whatever sound u made the sound will play and i just i told u how to make custom sounds for anything
try it if u have an mic i tryed it and my door sound was like eeeekkkkkkkk! and when i opened my door the door said eeeeeKKKKKKKKKKKKKK! just like i said in mic.(lol)its really fun and funny to know that u can make custom sounds for ur own game!!!

nono, you dont understand him. What you are saying is how to customize your own game. He wants to be able to make a custom sound for a sliding door in his map and that he has the sound for it already, just needs to know the script and how to link it to his door.
All i can say is that i think you need a few sounds, a start sound (when it opens) a sound while its moving and a sound for when it stops (closes).

Snake's right, you need two sounds for a door (open and close). unless you've had some training as a sound engineer, however, it's not likely you can take one sound and create a closing sound out of it. you can set both close and open sounds the same, however. so if you cant find a good closing sound it's always an option.

i suppose he could find a door "creeking" for the movement and then a door slamming shut for the close... i dunno about the starting.... door handle turning? But then again its a sliding door... proves more difficult.

windows sound recorder can reverse a sound maybe that would work for a closeing sound .

well i dont know about that, would have thourght it made it sound abit.. well, stupid. But how about editing the sound of a origanal sound of a door in moh.. speed it up... change pitch?

Yea, but it doesn't explain how I would actually go about adding the sound does it

I dont think its that possable. Or i think it requires alot of scripting for something simple which realy i suppose isnt worth it.
