My currenty project its a African Village (something as Algiers).
With base in this idea my questions:

1) Is possible simulate a sand storm (or a "moviable fog") ?
2) If reply is yes, the final result reduce the FPS form players ?

I thought that BreakThrough had a sandstorm effect in one of it's maps.......... single player......... You might want to look through some of the scripts.

You may also try using the blowing snow effect........ there is one, but don't know what it's called. ( it is a tik file if I remember right ).. Maybe you can change the shader to make it look like blowing sand, or perhaps using it and having the right worldfarplane, and color, would also work.

here's two

snowdrift.tik

fs_sand.tik

both in allied assault pak0

To me that idea sounds possable. However in Breakthrough i dont think its a sandstorm, its just sand coloured fog isnt it?

That is what is on the "desert-base" map.

yes they reeled in the farplane to about 30yds in front of the player and occasionally sent dust particles by him, in small amounts. it was fun because MOH had never limited your sight before, but annoying becausse the AI could generally see through it.

The map in question dont use a sand storm effect, but yes a very dense fog effect.
