Spearhead quits when I try and start a new game on my map

Alright I know I probably made a stupid mistake somewhere, but when I select my map from the maplist and click Start Game, Spearhead closes and I'm back at my desktop with the MoH Console still up.

Can anyone direct me to, or create their own list of reasons for MoH quitting instantly when you try and load your maps?

There is a reason the console pops up like that. It should say why it crashed, or at least what it was doing just before it crashed.

I just took out everything but the pk3's that come with the game...quits again, same stuff shows up on the Console..I have a player_start..I caulked what needs to be caulked, there's no leak into the skybox..I'll keep looking.

Are you trying to load a map made with the Spearhead SDK, into Allied Assault ?

What errors come up in mapbuilder ?

I'm using the Spearhead SDK's version of radiant, and I'm trying to open the map in Spearhead, so that's not the problem...the only error that comes up in MBuilder is that I have duplicate planes- 22 of them :oops: would enough of those cause this kind of error?

No, that shouldn't hurt

Try changing the mapname to map.map and recompile....see what happens........... may be a syntax error.

you took all the extra pk3 files out......... even the sound mod ?

yep I took all the custom pk3's I had out..the one called ambient2 wasn't a sound mod...it's actually a map Tom referred me to in my other thread that has a piano and cello playing music when you trigger them- pretty cool 8-)...I changed the name to map and recompiled..still no effect :cry:

Sometimes when you remove custom pk3 files they leave behind other folders............ textures...... global............. see if you have them and open and see whats in them.......... anything pointing to the custom pk3's you removed ?


Did you remove custom pk3's from the .......main......... also ?

You say that the console is still up when you start a map but mohSH shuts down ? It almost sounds like you are starting a dedicated server . Are you checking the dedicated server check box when you start the map ?

He is trying to start a dedicated server.

The last lines sasys it all, Its basically saysing the server is up and running, And will give that

ooo man I forgot about that. I had been trying to run dedicated servers off my computers a while ago to see if other people could connect to them...I guess I never unchecked it. I'll check it out in a minute, thanks!!

edit: sure enough, that was the problem...never done that before lol, thanks again everyone :)
