^^^the first two show the awkward LOD terrain..I'm trying to fix it now but any info on it would help :)

Image

^^^anyone know how I'd get powerlines running between those two telephone poles?

Image

^^^face of the brush becomes see-through, the other faces are fine...

for the power lines ( i use them in most my urban maps) if you don't want to create/use a ''wire'' texture, simply connect the two poles with thin long brushes (2u) and then texture the four sides with something metal from general_industrial . granted they won't sag but it's the fastest easiest way to make power lines.

Nice map ! I'm tryin to make the powerlines like that but it's hard doing it at an angle with such thin brushes heh, i'll get it eventually, thanks.

edit:

it's not too bad after all 8-)

I'm pretty sure I didn't drag all the needed vertices up in the LOD terrain, so that would lead to only cone-shaped plots of it are above the rest of the ground..and my disappearing textures have to do with vertices being messed up as well, don't they?

you can also try with a mesh which might be easier to manipulate and texturize it (i normally use ) the ge_wires_para texture

You might also try using two small thin brushes and slightly bend each one, connecting them in the middle.

i had a dinky version of philly nights (real small) but the version i linked is the final version (they look very different from each other in screenshots), file sizes are very different also; one obviously is the smaller.
