hi its me again can someone tell me how after u use winzip to zip your fiehow u rename it? this is a simple map no houses and no frill in my map foler/dm i have my bsp min adn .scr file that is what i have on my zip now how do i rename it?

If you are using Winzip to make your pk3 file just make the .zip and then rename it to .pk3....simple as that:)

Get "pakscape", that's easier to use when you are dealing with pk3 files.

Using winzip is easier if you already made a work environment.

Cant agree with you!! Pakscape is the easiest way!

although I use pakscape I sometimes just rename my zipfiles in Dos-mode(prompt). It's not the fastest way to do it but it works.
Make your zip using folder names. At the prompt go to the directory where the zipfile is located using; cd (dir name). Then look for the dos-name of your zipfile (let's say you named it: myzip.zip)

At the prompt type: ren myzip.zip myzip.pk3

Exit the dos-prompt and you're done. I repeat, it's not the fastest way to do it but it works;)

You could just adjust your "Windows" settings to shown file extentions of known file types.

hi i know abouthe renaming of the zip now but one thing i forgot howinnkepper otld me to change the directory settings ? i know the renamecommand can u tell me how to change the directory to blah blah blah \desktp ? i know it is cd somehting

Well if your using win9x its;

cd\windows\desktop

Starting from the root directory (Drive letter, normally C:\) your operating system is installed to. Don't forget you can use;

cd..

To move back one level.

No, Winzip is easier. Pakscape needs to drag files in. Winzip just needs to compile in a few secs. Escpecially if yo already created a Work Environment.
